The Toolkit Project Team is a collective formed by four designers/game-makers who focus on participation, repair, and transformation (and the game) and continue to work and create in different knowledge domains of architectural and social disciplines. We dream of enriching our team with different disciplines over time and becoming a large collective with countless participants.
In this project, we want to make a small but useful impact in post-disaster damaged cities by using the liberating and healing power of the game.
You can reach us and become a participant by sending an e-mail to tangraplaytoolkit@gmail.com.
Tangram consists of simple wooden pieces and has an easily understandable structure. Tangraplay Toolkit aims to be simple, fast and cost-effective for users. Both offer great variety with limited resources.
Yes, this game appeals to people of all age groups. Because we believe playing is not only for children but for all humanity.
Design invites participation and different stakeholders to share the work. Therefore, by spreading its experience over more than one workshop process, it finds support in both the ideation phase and the production process. It suggests a low-cost design approach using basic materials and basic forms.
After the toolkit arrives at the site, it will meet its main user and invite the public to the game. The game-space will begin to be built under the observation and, if necessary, within the silent playmakers who start the game. Building the place itself is also a part of the game and therefore means reinforcing the belonging builded with the place. Building place belonging means a long-term investment for this defined area of the city.
This kit was produced mainly for post-disaster cities. However, with its modular structure, it can be applied in many areas and subjects. Therefore, it is a project that can adapt to many areas, especially disaster areas.
