Let me support your technology integration needs. I offer a variety of professional development and can customize a single session or create a multi-day event. I can even include follow-up with participants to ensure their understanding and implementation of the information shared. Here is a small sample of sessions available.
Beginner Level Workshops:
Learning to Drive - Let’s take our Google Drives out for a spin and see just what they can do for us. We will learn what “in the cloud” really means, as well as learn some advanced search techniques that will make our lives easier. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of the G-Suite environment and find out just how much fun it is to collaborate.
Getting Started 101 - Learn the basics of this fundamental part of the G-Suite environment. We will investigate the ins and outs of this dynamic tool to see just what all the fuss is about. Participants will emerge from this session with activities they can put into practice the next day.
Sliding into the Classroom - Google Slides is so much more than just a presentation tool. In this session we will learn how to use Google Slides for a wide variety of tasks. Participants will leave with activities they can utilize immediately to encourage students to go beyond the textbook.
Basic Apps for the Classroom - This session steps away from the G-Suite environment. In this session we will look at specific apps that can be used in the classroom to encourage student engagement while also promoting learning. At the conclusion of this session, participants will have a toolbox of items they can use to spice up their classrooms.
Connect to Classroom - This session is designed just for schools and districts using the G-Suite for Education. From creating a class to integrating Google Classroom into your classroom culture, participants will experience it all.
Intermediate Level Workshops:
Wrinkle Free Sheets - Sheets is a great tool for more than just “crunching numbers”. Together we will dive into the world of rows, columns and cells. Organizing data has never been this fun! This session will uncover some hidden gems that participants will find fascinating.
Form Fitting Lessons - Google Forms can help you tailor your lessons for your students. In this session we will create forms personalized for the individual participant. We will discuss ways that Google Forms can be used to aggregate data and how they can make some tasks easier. Participants will depart energized and ready to incorporate Google Forms seamlessly into their curriculum. (Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of Google Sheets)
Are We There Yet? - Google maps are everyone’s go to for directions. From next door to around the world, Google Maps has something to offer every subject. In this session each participant will build a tour specific to his or her own curriculum. When we reach our destination, everyone will have a collection of student ready activities using Google Maps.
Building a PLN - It has never been easier to find other educators interested in being better professionally. This session will investigate the use of social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) to take control of our own learning. At the end of this session, each participant will have a list of contacts willing to support and/or collaborate.
Advanced Level Workshops:
Life in the Fast Lane - One of the hidden powers of Google Docs is the Add-On. In this session we will investigate some of the most popular Add-Ons. We will learn how to find and manage Add-Ons. When we finish, each participant will have a Google Doc environment made just for them.
Global Presence - Time to get it on the line. In this session, participants will learn just how easy it is to create and manage their own websites. We will discuss the variety of ways information can be published to the web. Each participant will emerge with a fully customizable website suitable for classroom integration.
Quick Draw - Google Draw is one of the hidden gems in the Google Suite. In this session, we will integrate Google Drawings into our Docs, Sheets, Slides and Sites. We will also discuss how Google Draw can be used as a stand alone application. Participants will leave with the skills needed to customize any future projects.
Tech Integration - This session is less of a workshop and more of a discussion about what true Technology Integration looks like in our classrooms. Current educational technology trends will be discussed. Participants will leave with a broader understanding of the purpose of technology in the classroom.
