Hello, Owls!
Welcome to Term 3! We will be working on a new assignment tracking system in my class. I am providing a 2-3 week span for assignments. If they are not submitted by the due date, students will lose 10%. There is also a deadline. For this part of the term, the deadline is up until Parent/Teacher Conferences. If the work is not submitted by the deadline, students will receive a zero grade.
This past week, we have started in Unit 4. We will have our first quiz on Monday, February 2. This section has been on using the standard algorithm for multiplication. Some of our students are struggling because they were previously taught a different method last year. As we cycle through math concepts throughout the year, students need to let me know if they are struggling with anything we cover in class. I will always make myself available to help them at lunch recess or after hours. Currently, tutoring is available on Wednesdays after school, from 3:15 - 4:00, but I can stay as late as 4:30 pm. I am available every day after school.
We will continue to use Number Corner with our curriculum.This is a supplemental resource to help students remember and expand their knowledge of previous concepts.
