Hello, Owls!
Welcome to Term 2! For now, the only homework remains reading at night. A pink reading log was given out at the beginning of the month. Please be sure to sign off on your child's nightly reading. It is due on November 1. I have attached a copy below, should you need it.
We will have our next spelling test on Friday, October 31. The students will receive their word list on Monday (10/27/25), but I have attached one below for your records. On Thursday, October 30, they will be writing sentences with those words. We have been writing the words daily, and I have seen improvement in our spelling tests. I encourage a little practice at night with writing out the words, but it is not mandatory.
We will also be continuing with our daily sentene corrections. Should your child need to be out of class for an extended period of time, please use the form below to complete this assignment.
Next month, we will begin working on our first book report. The book for the entire class will be Night of the Spadefoot Toads. However, if they have chosen to participate in the contest, they can read How to Eat Fried Worms instead. I have let them know that I will accept their book report for the contest as their class book report.
