What is the Talking Circle Community?
Find out more
Talking Circles are a traditional way of Native Americans to make common decisions. First Nations people observed that the circle is a dominant symbol in nature. It is the earth, the sky, the sun, the moon, the seasons, and the cycle of life. The circle symbolizes horizontal structure, equality, and infinity. The circle is ready to start when everyone can see everyone.
The talking stick, stone, or feather symbolizes the connectivity with the land and offers the tool to facilitate the circle.

Talking Circle Gatherings take place predominantly in nature. To date we have held events in more than a dozen separate locations around the island of Cyprus.
Gatherings currently are held once every 2 months and are spread over a weekend. During the colder months, when the climate is less predictable, we hold one day events in locations offering shelter from the weather.
Besides the main gatherings, there are workgroups on different topics addressing the group's specific needs. Such as Land, Water & Shape and Art & Love or the Guardians.
