The Taiwan Association for Educational Communications and Technology (TAECT) has been established for over half a century, dedicating itself to advancing research and practice in educational communications and technology applications. Each year, the association organizes academic conferences on educational technology topics, bringing together scholars and practitioners from Taiwan and abroad to exchange research findings and teaching experiences.
The 2026 Annual Conference is co-organized by TAECT and the Graduate School of Curriculum and Instructional Communications Technology at National Taipei University of Education. The conference will be held on November 20 (Friday)-21 (Saturday), 2026, at the International Conference Hall, Zhishan Building, National Taipei University of Education.
Conference Theme:
"Inspiring New Thinking for Learning in the Era of AI"
This year's conference explores new paradigms in teaching and learning in the AI era, the current trends in teacher education during the AI era, and educational theories and research in the AI era.
The Ministry of Education's "Handbook for K–12 Students' Generative AI Learning Applications," published in December 2025, provides teachers with the latest digital tools and application principles, helping them introduce diverse perspectives and cross-disciplinary integration into the classroom. This enables teachers to tailor learning strategies and tools according to the needs of different fields, subjects, and themes, for the planning, execution, and evaluation of students' learning plans and tasks—all while ensuring students are protected from cybersecurity risks in AI-assisted learning.
As we face teaching and learning in the AI era, educators play a central role in technology-integrated education. We must rethink approaches to teaching and learning, equipping teachers with technology-assisted instructional strategies, and guiding students in developing critical thinking, digital literacy, and problem-solving skills to meet the challenges ahead in the AI era.
By presenting practical research papers at this conference, we aim to showcase diverse approaches to AI and emerging technologies, cultivate teachers' AI literacy, and encourage educators to reflect on how AI is transforming teaching and learning. We seek to leverage AI tools for professional development while confronting the challenges of applying these tools in educational settings—ultimately inspiring the future of educational communications and technology in the AI era.
We warmly welcome your participation in TAECT 2026 to share your research outcomes and experiences in educational technology research and innovative teaching.
