As a Co-Editor-in-Chief of Denebola, I am tasked with leading newspaper meetings. During these meetings, we often bring in food and snacks, play games, and listen to music. But I also lead informative lessons that help our reporters and photographers become better creators. I use my learning from NPSA as well as my personal knowledge to create these lessons. As part of overseeing Social Media, Arts, and Multimedia, I also create content plans. When I became the Managing Editor of Graphics, I also completely scrapped the way they had organized it beforehand and created a more efficient way of assigning graphics.
Besides all of this work, the Denebola staff and community has grown extremely close in the past year we have been working together. My Co-Editors-in-Chief and I have often planned get-togethers outside of school, and these "Denebola Dinners" have proven to be great ways to bond! I would honestly call us a friend group. It is important to be friends with your team members because we're collaborating constantly.
As a staff, we also recognize everyone's birthday and plan a "party" for each Editor during a meeting!
Here are a few examples of lessons and plans created by me, unless otherwise noted.
