Predicting the vibration of the complicated finite element models through Component mode synthesis (CMS)
A complicated finite element model is inefficient to analyze because it has many degrees of freedom. Therefore, we reduce the analysis time using the Component Mode Synthesis(CMS) technique that divides the model into substructures and lowers the degree of freedom through reduced-order modeling and recombination. We aim to solve dynamics problems using this CMS technique through efficient simulation analysis on large models. [이민석]

Constructing 1D-3D Co-simulation platform based on Component Mode Synthesis (CMS)
CAE is widely used in the field of engineering design, so it is necessary to increase accuracy and reduce analysis time. 3D FEM model has the disadvantage of taking a long time to analyze due to the complexity of the system. However, 1D CAE has the benefit of being able to quickly analyze complex mechatronic systems. In our research, we have developed a platform by utilizing the advantages of 1D and 3D. Therefore, we can reduce the analysis time and obtain high accuracy by linking the reduced-order 3D FEM model and 1D simulation. [허재석, 배승훈]

Digital acoustic prototype for noise problem of the refrigerator during manufacture
Refrigerators has some noise problem by structure, air, and fluids, for example, the refrigerant. To solve this issue, quality control(QC) and troubleshooting spend much time because they don’t have any model. In this project, the goal is to make the digital prototype of the noise model which can apply the acoustic characteristics to design and process the noise problem quickly. [김찬경]

Application of sector-level calculation
on blisk with split ring damper
To analyze the total blisk system, The effective method is using cyclic symmetric structure. The method uses only one sector and enables us to predict total system response. However, to install the ring damper inside blisk, It should be split. Therefore, the symmetricity is broken and we can’t calculate the system at a sector level. To solve this problem, We add friction effect term on full ring damper. [이재원]
