The Companies of the Defenders of the Sword Haven currently active and their Status.
Swordhaven has no civilians, farmers, police or the like. There dwell there only the Defenders of Swordhaven, the Keepers themselves, and a handful of immortals, largely former defenders. The defenders themselves are divided into companies, of which it is rare for more than one to be in the fortress at any time, numbering perhaps 150 souls. In time defenders gain favor with the keepers for their deeds. The most favored company commands first preference as to where the ring gates will be pointed, as well as greater use of Swordhaven's machines. Most favored of all will hang their banner from the front gate. In time companies break up, leave, or in some cases perish, and new ones form. It is possible that some of the companies here no longer exist.
