Customs of dress vary greatly in Sword Haven, but are nothing like modern day earth. You should choose a costume you’ll enjoy wearing that contributes to game atmosphere - it is not permissible to show up in a T-shirt and jeans. In general, it is best to mix and match different historical and fantasy/science fiction elements - ideally, your costume should be unique to you or your group, and not a copy of any historical or fantasy garb. Please avoid Camo, excessive use of Tactical Gear, most modern clothing unless it has a science fiction or fantasy feel. Remember that THIS IS NOT POST APPOCALYPSE EARTH. You also should not be recognizable as a well known character from fantasy and science fiction. More obscure ones are fine. We encourage comfort and originality in costuming.

Your Costume should evoke the idea that your character is from a far away and mysterious place. Steampunk can be a good source of ideas, but be aware that technology is based on Radium and Crystal, not gears and steam, and this is not Victorian England. Don’t stress it too much. In a pinch, a tunic and leggings or sweat pants works great. Most fantasy costumes are also well suited.
