Small Group Literacy Instruction at a Distance with Dr. Nell Duke
In this video, I discuss how to provide small group literacy instruction for young children using a videoconferencing platform (Zoom). I walk through a phonics lesson focused on oi and then, more briefly, a lesson that builds knowledge about food chains and flow diagrams. The video concludes with reflections from four instructional coaches and a few final words from me. - Nell K. Duke, University of Michigan

Word Work at Distance with Dr. Nell Duke
In this video, I discuss how to provide phonological awareness, phonics, interactive writing, and vocabulary instruction for young children at a distance. I focus mainly on tools available free through Google. I include slides, demonstrations without children, and two demonstrations with children (one of interactive writing and one of vocabulary instruction). The slides, which are not meant to stand alone but rather to be downloaded after viewing the presentation, are available here: https://umich.box.com/s/6r4meweurmng6... . Thank you for your interest. - Nell K. Duke, University of Michigan
