serving our community

There are so many great resources for literacy instruction at home and at school.

This site was created to help organize and highlight some of the best practices in improving literacy skills for children, parents, and teachers. Keep checking back--it gets updated monthly.  Enjoy!

High School Girls from Nasaruni, Narok, Kenya

Nasaruni Academy, Narok Kenya

is one of our international projects. This is a girls' school in Kenya. It is a privately funded school and its mission is to educate Maasai girls and keep them from early and forced marriages. This school gives hope for a future to many Maasai girls in Kenya.  Members and volunteers have helped by donating books to their library, and more recently, donating money to help build a high school!

If you would like to support our International Literacy Efforts, please consider donating to Nasaruni Academy.

Building New Partnerships in Kenya

A new school in Kenya, Olbolet Academy that serves Maasai Children in grades Preschool to grade 6 would like us to help them build a permanent stone library.  We can build a new library structure for $8,000.  Sadly, they only have textbooks for their children to use and are desperate to create a learning place for their children to enjoy high-quality books.

If you are interested in supporting this cause, please contact Tracy Hough to make your tax-free donation.  houghtracylee@gmail.com
