1. Because we are a Google Campus, orient faculty with Google Slides "Add On" to create Slido questions in their existing presentations

2. Download and install browser extension to support slide animations

3. Importing presentations into Google Slides, creating animations, 

Roll Out Guide: Present in monthly meeting. Provide videos in Google Drive and provide link after Zoom. 

Needs Analysis: Prequisites, knowledge of presentation, Google Suite and installing extensions

Learner characteristics: High achieving, 20+ years of education, Multiple years teaching students ranging from undergraduate to doctrate level, holding M.D or PhD degrees

VISUAL ABSTRACTS

When designing a training video, found the best way to drive a point home is to stop the video and put up what I've been calling a visual abstract. 

In collaboration with the faculty development team we found important issues to adress with faculty on boarding of presentation software Slido.

Slido uses a QR code to engage students from thier personal devices to pose questions and polls during the lecture. Lecture styles are categorized as active learning strategies. 

I developed a microlearning strategy to engage faculty. Screen recordings paired with slides containing illustrations dubbed visual abstracts guide the user through the most exciting thing to happen to lectures in a long time.

Outlines, redrafts, critiques, multiple iterations

Training faculty on Slido stretched through the entirety of my time at HMH. It's enjoyable because the content matter is so interesting and time restraints are tight. It's a no frills operating through and through. It's rare that extra time is spent developing presentations. Solutions come fast, you're shooting from the hip.
