Description
In this joint project with Theresa Neumaier (TU Dortmund University), we investigate the hitherto underresearched variety of English in Madeira. Our main foci are:
the history of English in Madeira (which is characterised by intense contact with England),
the effects of language contact between English and (Madeiran) Portuguese,
the role of tourism in the development of English in Madeira.
