Ohio Homeowners having difficulties paying their mortgage or property taxes due to Covd19-related financial hardship can get up to $25,000 to help pay those costs!
"Save the Dream Ohio provides assistance to Ohio homeowners facing foreclosure and/or who cannot afford to pay their mortgage payments or other related housing costs as a result of economic hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is administered by the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, and is expected to continue through September 30, 2025 or until the available funding is depleted."

Communities First Ohio Down Payment Assistance program
A down payment and closing cost assistance program for all Ohio home buyers that meet eligibility requirements. The assistance is provided as a grant that does not require repayment and can fund up to 100% of the home buyer's cash closing (including down payment, closing costs, and prepaid items). Learn More >

Restrictions
The interest rate for the home loan is about 1% higher than the average market value loan
Applies to 30 year fixed rate mortgage loans only
Cannot pay in cash
Must go through a participating lender
Cannot use funds for certain homes, like manufactured homes, co-ops, vacation homes, second homes, etc.
Home buyer must take occupancy within 60 days (there is some flexibility for homes that need a lot of work in order to be inhabitable)
