SUSMITA BISWAS
Human-Computer Interaction Researcher
Hello, and welcome to my website. I’m Susmita Biswas, a Human-Computer Interaction researcher from Bangladesh, currently working as a Research Assistant at United International University. I study what happens when digital systems meet communities they were never built for, communities shaped by faith, culture, gendered vulnerability, and uneven access to technology. My work has been published at CHI 2026, where I received a Best Paper Honorable Mention, and most recently at COMPASS 2026.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Computer Science at Brac University, where I was drawn into research early and never quite left it. I am currently involved in research at the C2SG research lab at United International University under the supervision of Jannatun Noor, where I think about systems, people, and the many ways they fail to understand one another.
Outside research, I am often drawn to animated films, documentaries, and long intellectual detours into history, mythology, and stories that stay with me long after they end.
