About Me

I am an HCI researcher interested in how culture, values, language, accessibility, and social context shape people's interactions with technology. My research broadly spans community-centered HCI, critical and culturally situated computing, accessibility, human-AI interaction, and ICTD. I primarily use qualitative and mixed-method approaches to study technology with marginalized and underserved communities, particularly in the Global South.

My recent work has examined Islamic HCI, digital inclusion, Indigenous language and education, and barriers to accessing digital technologies and public services. In 2026, two papers that I co-authored were accepted at ACM CHI. I served as the lead author of “Decoding Islamic HCI: What Current Patterns Reveal About Future Possibilities”, which received a Best Paper Honourable Mention Award at CHI 2026 (Top 5%). The work explores how Islamic values, epistemologies, and lived practices can inform more inclusive and value-centered technology design.

My other CHI 2026 paper, “The Digital Democracy Paradox: When Usability and Literacy Barriers Undermine Inclusive E-Government”, investigates how usability and literacy barriers can undermine digital inclusion. These projects grew through collaborations with researchers from the C2SG Research Lab, United International University, and BRAC University, under the guidance of my supervisor, Jannatun Noor.
