A collection of multi-modal digital and print assets engineered from the ground up to exceed WCAG AA standards, Section 508 compliance, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) frameworks.
Objective: Transformed a fragmented, low-accessibility school district template into an integrated physical-to-digital performance support system for linguistically diverse families.
Visual Methodology: Applied Gegenfurtner Visual Chunking principles and Gestalt psychology to isolate dense logistics into structured, color-coded visual containers—optimizing rapid scanning and cognitive processing.
Technical Architecture: Reengineered the user journey by replacing multiple conflicting print QR codes with a single portal. Developed a mobile-responsive landing page acting as a localized digital dashboard with programmed .ics calendar sync integration.
Universal Design (UDL) & AI Enhancement: Accounted for visual and literacy variances by leveraging ElevenLabs AI voice synthesis to engineer high-fidelity, synchronized audio walkthroughs across English, Spanish, and French user tracks.
The Problem: The legacy asset (above) did not feature images of five crabs, which provided no support to connect the chronological countdown of the poem text.
The Solution: I restructured the document architecture so that the visual imagery diminishes alongside the verse rhythm. When a screen reader or audio guide says a specific number, the learner's eye is automatically pulled to a perfectly matched, uncluttered visual cue.
Objective: Evaluated a non-compliant, flat legacy Pre-K print curriculum document and modernized it into an inclusive, digitally accessible learning asset designed for diverse early learners.
UDL Strategy (Multiple Means of Engagement): Transformed traditional passive reading blocks into a multi-modal experience. Built in visual and auditory scaffolding to support early childhood literacy, neurodiverse learners, and English language text-processing.
Technical & Accessibility Remediation:
* Mitigation of the split-attention effect (Synchronized Scaffolding): By using synchronized audio-visual tracking, the visual layout dynamically anchors and reinforces the mathematical concepts.
* Engineered asset backend to be completely screen-reader navigable, ensuring proper heading structures and Section 508-compliant Alt-Text for all graphic components.
* Maintained developmental appropriateness by stripping out cognitive distractions while amplifying meaningful visual indicators.
