Students begin this program their sophomore year of high school and earn an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science from Dakota College at Bottineau. The LEAP Beyond program is unique to Dakota College and students will begin registering for classes this spring and summer in anticipation of starting the program during fall 2020. Dakota College also offers the unique LEAP program, which allows high school students to earn 24 college credits and earn the Certificate of College Studies alongside their high school diploma.
Transferability – General education courses transfer to any campus in the North Dakota University System (NDUS). This allows students to take quality courses from DCB at an affordable rate and then either continue their education at DCB or transfer their courses/credits to any campus in the NDUS.
Time Savings – By taking 60 credits, students will save up to two years of college, allowing them to enter the workforce sooner. Cost Savings – Dual credit students receive a current discounted tuition rate of $142.76 per credit vs the $210.25 per credit, creating a savings of $67.49 per credit. The Bank of ND Scholarship covers tuition and books for two classes per academic year for qualified students. Flexible Delivery – All of the courses are available online and many are available over IVN (Interactive Video Network). For added flexibility, teachers at some of the participating high schools instruct courses.
