To use CAD software for modeling, simulation and analysis of a design
To provide fundamental understanding of conventional manufacturing and digital manufacturing techniques, and their respective challenges and limitations
To relate computational engineering design with manufacturing through practical design and prototyping
Term 1 (September-December) 2018
Objectives:
To understand the concepts, rules, and conventions of engineering drawings.
To read and understand engineering drawings and CAD models of an existing design.
To use CAD software for the modeling, simulation and analysis of a design, and to produce engineering drawings describing the design
Term 2 (January-April) 2019, 2023
Objectives:
To acquire fundamental knowledge of robots, its mechanisms, control systems, sensors, and actuators.
To gain hands-on experience in design and development of robotic systems.
To understand the design process of engineering systems and the systematic approach to solve engineering tasks.
To develop teamwork and communication skills during project development.
