With roots as diverse as her artistic palette, Jasmine's upbringing reflects a lack of conventional experience that appears in and inspires her approach in life and art. Her father, a black foster kid from 1970s Bronx, NYC, immerses himself in gardening and classical music, teaching orchestra to under-privileged kids. On the other side, her mother, a white farm girl from Oregon that grew up horse jumping, is a genius chemical engineer that enjoys 90s hip-hop, and global travels. Both of jasmine's parents denied their upbringing and found themselves doing the opposite of what was expected of them in life. This unconventional blend converges in the coastal cities of South Texas, shaping Jasmine's identity as a biracial, neurodivergent woman who is unbound by convention or pre-set expectations for who she was supposed to be. Jasmine's one of a kind identity is solidified in her endlessly curious self expression through her creativity. In a world shaped by mass communication, Jasmine defies statistical norms, creating a personal culture reflective of her own choices. Her humanity, a fusion of unparalleled experiences and perspectives, resonating in her art.
Growing up, Jasmine found deep interest in the science channel and the displays at local museums, this Fueled by a lifelong passion for learning about everything in life she can, including science and an insatiable curiosity about the unknown facets of space and death. In the subjectivity of her art work she navigates commonalities between these subjects. Her art becomes a skill tree of creation and self-expression, each piece a unique exploration of the hidden realms of the human mind and the enigma of the future.
Jasmine's artistic focus extends to mental health exploration. Just as she carved, out a personal identity with no blueprint, Her ultimate goal is to reveal the euphoric and manic states experienced by those with mental disorders, highlighting their impact on perception carving out a visual identity that associates the light and dark in the world with something perceivable. Jasmine's art serves as a bridge, connecting with those who share similar struggles to those who seek to understand the diverse tapestry of human existence.
As Jasmine continues her creative journey, she envisions a future where the scientific study of the subconscious mind sparks an interest in the public and is treated like any other science like space exploration or archeology to be reveled and admired and endlessly explored as a frontier of the future. she encourages individuals to recognize the vastness within their own minds and find beauty even in the shadows of their mental experiences.
