Social distancing, also known as physical distancing, means keeping 6 feet of distance between you and other people who do not live with you. Social distancing helps to helps reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Social distancing should be practiced in combination with everyday precautions such as wearing a mask, avoiding touching your face and washing your hands properly for at least 20 seconds.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention asserts that COVID-19 spreads among people who are in close contact (less than 6 feet apart) for prolonged periods of time. Spread happens when someone with COVID-19 sneezes, coughs or talks and vapor from their mouths or noses is released into the air. Those droplets can be inhaled by those around the person. Since many infected people don't know they're sick, it's important to maintain 6 feet apart from others to protect each other.
You know how to define Social Distancing and can describe why it's important. So how do you practice Social Distancing?
