Welcome to the Sunflower Hill AKC Labrador Family!
Our goal is to breed high-quality champion lineage yellow AKC English Labrador Retrievers. We breed Labradors out of love for the breed and the desire to produce puppies that will give you lots of happiness that our dogs have given us over the years.
In April 2021, my mother and I adopted our first AKC Labrador Retriever: her name is Daisy on Sunflower Hill and she absolutely loves belly rubs! We adopted Daisy from a close family member that has been breeding AKC English Labradors for many years. He taught us how to raise a litter of Labrador puppies since Daisy was 8-weeks old. Since then, we have continued to gain expertise and knowledge in breeding Labradors by meeting other local well-established breeders.
In November 2023, we adopted our first AKC English Labrador Stud Dog named Kingdom Acres Desert Storm Legacy. His call name is "Dezzy" and he absolutely loves playing fetch! He was graciously given to us by Kingdom Acres AKC Labrador's breeder and we have loved him ever since. His breeder has been very kind in helping us get started with our small breeding program that none of this would have been possible without her support!
These amazing labs have won our love and changed our lives forever since the day we welcomed them to our family. Through them, we discovered the wonderful qualities of the Labrador breed. Like most Labradors, they showcase their intelligence and liveliness every day. They love people and get along very well with children of all ages. They know how to be playful, yet gentle with the little ones. This is what I have observed from how our labs interact with my nieces who are currently under the age of 5.
Although we have always loved dogs, based on our experience with Daisy, Dezzy, and Everest (Daisy's Mother) we decided that Labrador Retrievers were the best dog breed for us. The Sunflower Hill AKC Labrador's breeding method is heavily influenced by those used by well-established breeders that have been successfully breeding Labradors for many years. We have also done our own research and studied ways to ensure we raise the healthiest puppies that can live a long-lasting life full of love and joy.
In our current breeding program, we continue our efforts to breed puppies that meet the highest American Kennel Club (AKC) standards and exhibit excellent health and well-being.
The blessings my mom and I have received from those that have chose to help us along the way to get started in our small breeding program is amazing! We want to pay it forward and raise the most loving, playful, healthy Labradors that will be a blessing to have in your family.
Thank you for visiting our website. We invite you to familiarize yourself with our Labrador family and how we raise our puppies from the day they are born. Please contact us if you have any questions. We would love to hear from you!
Kindly,
Dolores & Stephanie (Mom & Daughter)

How to Find a Reputable Labrador Breeder
Finding a trustworthy Labrador breeder is an essential task when welcoming a new puppy to your home. As a dog owner, you want to receive a puppy that aligns well with your family's lifestyle and preferences. However, it is important to keep in mind that acquiring a high-quality puppy from a reputable breeder can be more expensive than a puppy from a regular breeder. But in exchange, you will get a puppy that is genetically healthy and well-socialized. Thus, please exercise caution when selecting a puppy based on price and/or availability alone.
It is crucial that a trustworthy breeder conducts necessary health tests on their adult dogs prior to breeding since the goal is always to improve the breed and the future generation of healthy puppies. At Sunflower Hill AKC Labradors, we ensure the health of our adult dogs by conducting x-rays for hip and elbow dysplasia through the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation For Animals). Moreover, our stud dog's eyes receive clearance from a Veterinary Ophthalmologist. In order for the puppies eyes to be affected, at least one parent needs to be clear of both CNM (Centronuclear Myopathy) PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) and Dilute.
Moreover, responsible and ethical breeders are willing to accept puppies from prior litters at any point in the dog's life, regardless of the reason. The Sunflower Hill AKC Labrador Health Guarantee Agreement requires us to be informed if you are no longer able to care for your Labrador. We insist on having the first right of refusal or the first opportunity to take in your dog if you ever need to find it a new home, no matter the situation.
Additionally, our puppies receive continuous care and affection from us throughout their lives. We greatly enjoy staying connected with our puppy families and have developed strong bonds over time. Our main goal is to assist you in addressing any inquiries you might have and support you in resolving any issues that may arise throughout your dog's lifespan. We greatly appreciate staying connected with you as we value your feedback and inputs.
