Kathak Dance Classes

Kathak is one of the eight form of classical dances of India. Kathak is derived from word Katha that means telling a story or Katha. Kathak focuses on hand movements , facial expression ,and rhythmic  learning. During instructional time, students will learn   “Abhinaya” (acting), swift spins, graceful gestures, and majestic footwork. 

One beauty of learning Kathak is not only does it enhance your dance skills but helps in Bollywood and semi classical dances. After few years of learning  kathak my senior students  started their own choreograph for their own songs as well. 

At the end of the day, this effort pushes a student to master a sense of rhythm , gesture improvement , and build up dancing skills. . 

These years has been full of learning, progress and accomplishments. Sunaina Dance Academy students who are learning kathak performs in Bollywood categories and competitions and vice-versa. Sunaina feels so fortunate to teach each and every one of her students

Course Offer

Sunaina Dance Academy offers kathak certification and degree courses. 

All exams are held every year from India. It takes around 5-6 years to complete degree course.

Kids will get a junior diploma in 2 years, a senior diploma after completing the 4th year, and finally in the 6th year they will achieve Nritya Visharad.

There will be classes every week and half-way through,  there will be a  theory exam. The practical exam will be held at the end of the year. 

Commitment from Parents & Kids

There is little commitment on parent side. Their main focus should be to bring the kids to class regularly and kids have to practice 15-20 minutes, 2- 3 times a week.
