Research and Technology Scientist in NETCOM group at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (July 2024 - Present)
As a Research and Technology Scientist, I am involved in leading project, writing research proposals, system building, test planning, and execution of several National(Luxembourgish), and privately funded projects. The main research areas are SDR prototyping of wireless communication systems, 5G-NR, 4G-LTE, 5G Non-Terrestrial Networks(NTN), and 5G Radiation Compliance. My achievements include:
PI of NTNWAVE ( SNS-JU 6G-Sandbox OC3 )
WP Leader in FSXR ( SNS-JU 6G-XR OC2 )
Represented LIST in 3GPP (5G/6G-NTN) meetings.
Authored 1 journal, 2 Conference, 2 demo papers and 1 tutorial.
Research Associate in SIGCOM group at the University of Luxembourg (June 2019 - May 2024)
As a Research Associate, I am involved in writing research proposals, system building, test planning, and execution of several European Space Agency (ESA), National(Luxembourgish), and privately funded projects. The main research areas are SDR prototyping of wireless communication systems, 5G-NR, 4G-LTE, 5G Non-Terrestrial Networks(NTN), and 5G Radiation Compliance. My achievements include:
Proposal writing and technical contribution in 9+ projects funded by the European Space Agency, SMC Luxembourg, and SES Luxembourg.
Implemented 3GPP Release-17 5G-NTN adaptations (Layer-1 and Layer-2) in OpenAirInterface5G for GEO and LEO-based 5G-NTN.
Designed and built end-to-end SDR testbed for 5G and 5G-NTN-related projects.
Responsible for test planning (indoor/outdoor) and execution of live over-the-air/satellite campaigns.
Responsible for public demonstrations of several projects, nationally and internationally. Led 9 live scientific demonstrations at prestigious international conferences and workshops(ACM Mobicom, INFOCOM, ICASSP, Globecom, EuCNC, ICSSC, ASMS).
Interacting with cross-functional teams (FPGA engineers) for the development of an in-house satellite channel emulator. Responsible for testing and providing feedback for correction/improvement.
Coordination with other labs for interdisciplinary works such as UAV-based missions to measure 5G network coverage KPIs (RSRP, RSRQ, SINR), antenna radiation pattern, and analysis of results.
Represented SIGCOM group in 3GPP (5G/6G-NTN), ILNAS (Luxembourg), and FOSS meetings.
Coauthored 6 journals, 2 book chapters, and 18 conference papers.
Ph.D. Candidate at Eurecom, France (Jan 2016 - April 2019)
Ph.D. thesis devoted to developing a Multi-standard SDR platform capable of simultaneously detecting and decoding information sent on overlapping frequency bands from heterogeneous wireless standards. My main achievements include:
Developed OpenAirInterface5G (OAI) based standard-compliant IEEE 802.11g and IEEE 802.15.4 SDR transceiver.
Developed interference mitigation method for wide-band OFDM signal suffering from multiple narrow-band interference sources, implemented them on GNU Radio and validated on SDR (USRP) over-the-air.
Authored 1 journal paper, and 3 conference papers and led 2 demonstrations (WCNC, ACM Mobicom, SPAWC).
Research Assistant in the SPCRC group at IIIT Hyderabad, India (September 2014 - December 2015)
As a research assistant, I worked on Govt. of India-sponsored project: Mobile and Static Cognitive Wireless Sensor Networks(COGWSN). My main achievements include:
One successful Indian patent was titled “A System for Implementation of Doubly Cognitive Wireless Sensor Networks”.
Development of cooperative spectrum sensing mechanisms for OFDM systems and validation using GNU Radio and SDR.
