The kanji characters for tōdai (lighthouse) are shown below for anyone wanting to practice their calligraphy.

The picture below is a sketch of the Point Loma Lighthouse for practice. It is rendered almost entirely with senbyō strokes.

This is my demonstration painting. Rendering the light-beam in a realistic fashion is a challenge. The photos that inspired this painting (see unit 5.1) were taken in the daytime. Doing a daytime painting with a light sky and light-colored waves is another challenge. Setting the painting at nighttime makes things easier.
