Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026 · Effective: May 31, 2026
The short version
Subside does not collect your personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device, or — only if you choose — in your own private iCloud account. We have no servers that store your information, no user accounts, and no analytics or tracking. We can't see, sell, or share your data, because we never receive it.
This Privacy Policy explains how the Subside app ("Subside", "the app", "we", "us") handles information. Subside is a subscription-tracking app for iPhone and iPad developed by Yassine Hammouti ("the Developer"). By using Subside, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Data we collect
We do not collect any personal data. Subside has no backend servers operated by the Developer, requires no account or sign-up, and transmits none of your information to us or to any third party. In Apple's privacy terms, Subside's data collection is classified as "Data Not Collected."
2. Data you store inside the app
To do its job, Subside stores the information you choose to enter, such as:
- Subscription details you add — service name, price, currency, billing cycle, renewal/trial dates, category, and notes;
- Optional sign-in details (such as a username and password) that you may save for a service, so you can find them when it's time to sign in or cancel;
- Your in-app preferences — home currency, reporting period, notification choices, and similar settings.
This information is stored locally on your device. Any sign-in details you save are kept in the secure iOS Keychain, encrypted by the operating system. The Developer has no access to any of it.
3. Optional iCloud sync
If you turn on iCloud sync in Settings (it is off by default), your subscription data is synchronized across your own Apple devices through Apple's iCloud / CloudKit service, using your private iCloud database. This data is tied to your Apple ID and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The Developer cannot access your iCloud data and never receives it. You can turn iCloud sync off at any time in Settings. If you have iCloud Keychain enabled, sign-in details you save may also sync between your devices through that Apple service, again without the Developer having access.
4. Insights are generated on your device
Subside's "insights" — for example, flagging duplicate services, possible price increases, trials about to convert, or your most expensive subscriptions — are produced by a simple rule-based engine that runs entirely on your device. No artificial-intelligence service, no third party, and no external server is involved, and none of your data is sent anywhere to generate them.
5. Purchases
Subside offers a one-time "lifetime" in-app purchase that unlocks premium features. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. The Developer never sees or stores your payment information. Purchase and refund handling are governed by Apple's terms.
6. Information we do NOT collect or use
- No analytics or usage-tracking SDKs;
- No advertising or ad networks;
- No cross-app or cross-site tracking, and no Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA);
- No location data, contacts, photos, or microphone access for data collection;
- No third-party AI services and no sharing of your data with any third party for processing.
7. Third parties
The only third party involved in Subside's operation is Apple, which provides the device storage, optional iCloud sync, Keychain, and in-app-purchase services described above. Your use of those services is governed by Apple's own privacy terms. We do not share data with any other third party, because we do not collect any data to share.
8. Data retention and deletion
Because your data is stored on your device (and optionally in your own iCloud), you are always in full control of it:
- Delete individual items — remove any subscription or saved sign-in from within the app at any time.
- Delete everything — deleting the app from your device removes its locally stored data.
- Remove iCloud copies — turn off iCloud sync in Settings, and/or manage and delete Subside's iCloud data from your device's Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
Since the Developer never receives or stores your data, there is no separate request needed to have us delete it — there is nothing held on our side. You can revoke any consent simply by turning off the relevant feature (such as iCloud sync) or deleting the app.
9. Children's privacy
Subside is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone. As the app collects no personal data, it does not gather information from children.
10. Security
Your data is protected by the security of your own device and Apple's platform — including device encryption, the iOS Keychain for sign-in details, and your private iCloud database when sync is enabled. We recommend keeping your device secured with a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and post the revised version here. Material changes will be reflected in an app update where appropriate.
