StuyGlides - Design, Build, Test, Innovate.
What is StuyGlides?
StuyGlides is a STEM-oriented club that guides members through the scientific process through hands-on experimentation and innovation involving RC (remote-controlled) aviation. Our club is focused on three topics: design, assembly, and iteration. The design of our projects is done through the drafting of 2D drawings and the usage of CAD (computer aided design) software such as Onshape. Assembly will be done in designated areas such as the Innovation Lab or at the homes of members. Iteration and improvement will also be done in the lab and at the homes of members. When we have finished assembly, we will test our projects in Flushing Meadows Flying Fields, a designated area for RC plane flyers located in Queens. StuyGlides also teaches leadership and public speaking skills and leaders will need to direct members and present our findings. Overall, StuyGlides provides an inclusive and productive environment where all members are encouraged to give input and nobody is left behind in the learning process.
