Our Charter

Welcome to StuyGlides! StuyGlides is an aviation-oriented club that will research and develop RC aircraft to enhance our knowledge on the topic. StuyGlides is a medium-commitment club where we will research, design, and hopefully fly RC aircraft. We will be using a variety of techniques to design our aircraft, including CAD (like OnShape), 2D design software, and AI as well. We will also be using real electronics to make our designs functional, and if the weather and FAA permits, we will test our aircraft in locations in NYC like Flushing Meadows Flying Field. We are open to all levels of experience and all grade levels, and in the end we're all going to learn a lot. To build our designs, we might use 3D printers, conventional building materials like foam board and carbon fiber, cardboard, or even some aluminum metal if obtainable. Throughout the course of this activity, we will be researching already existing designs and learning from the mistakes of others. Meetings will consist of Construction and CAD/Design meetings.
