Hytta

The cabin at Høla sits within the trees at the site. It is a sleeping shelter for those who wish to fish salmon along the river or just camp in the beautiful surroundings. Our goal was to challenge the norms of what people traditionally need to feel safe and protected, whilst keeping the cabin as bare-boned and close to nature as possible. Through inspiration from the traditional building technique skjelterverk, we built our fourth wall as a semi-transparent wall facing south to further challenge these norms. With vertical columns spaced closely together, our goal was to create a sense of protection, whilst beholding the close connection to both nature, as well as the communal areas on site.
