Gillian Clarke, Student Advisor
Hi! I’m Gillian, one of the student advisors here at the college. I am on hand to provide information, advice and guidance in relation to student life. I have a particular interest in Mental Health and I have completed various CPD courses which have allowed me to expand my skill set and knowledge, one of which was a certified Mental Health First Aid Course. These courses have given guidance and safe practice on how to provide initial support and appropriately signpost to either internal or external services.
I love my job. Each day I am fortunate to have the opportunity to support different individuals who are facing personal challenges which may impact their decision to further or even continue with their education. It is such a rewarding role, definitely one which provides its own continuous learning journey.

Hi, I'm Richard and I work full-time at COGC with my close colleagues in the Mental Health and Wellbeing Team. My main focus is to provide a confidential counselling service that meets the wellbeing needs of all students. This is a busy and rewarding role!
I have been counselling for more than 10 years and worked with the NHS and in employee services before joining City in 2018. Before counselling I worked in campaigning and education to improve the experiences of children and young people in Scotland. I am passionate about helping students overcome difficulties and have the best possible experiences of College.
