(Clarissa as Jacquimo)
How old? Middle age vibes
Female or male? Male
Who are they talking to? An audience, anybody who’s listening to me. Bedtime story vibe. Someone I care about. Has a hurt wing and the story also shows how he got it
Why tell this story now? In the position to teach something. It will uplift them, they need to hear it.
Most important value? Second most important value? Something in a romantic family
Family life? Have kids, had a partner- maybe still do but there’s distance. His coping with something difficult would be to be overly positive.
Real or fake? Embellished story, real but different. Heard it through the grapevine and inserting itself or making it more exaggerated.
Have they ever been in love? Yes, many types. Very intensely. Hard to maintain. Telling a fairytale -> not grounded. Aspires to love but its challenging b/c he has so much expectation.
Differences between who you are and portraying yourself as? Hero in the story- wants to be but not very sure of. Injury is a projection of something else.
Best friend? Thumbelina
Friends? Know Cornelius b/c Thumbelina talks about him. Fly so lots of friends in woodland creatures
Enemies? People who want to stop me from having fun
Have you had any injuries? None dramatically (not limp). Shift weight to one side -flying accident long ago. Still kind of bothers me, especially when it rains.
Favorite memories? Flying around with friends and siblings. Getting into trouble b/c adventurous. Really liked my mom. Liked building nests.
How do you see the personality? Laid back, positive, romantic, adventurous, don’t stress a lot, care a lot about people but think about myself a lot too, short sided
Relationship with Thumbelina? Stress all the time so she’s a little silly, adorable and little, like her think she’s funny.
Why choose to help? Interesting, sweet. Really like spring and she reminds her of spring
Social standing? Too flighty to get caught up in that. Entertaining but not a committed job. Middle class. Doesn’t care about social standing.
Have you heard of the prince? How do you feel about being near him? Yes, oh yeah. Outlandish stories (info sources aren’t accurate but entertaining). Like tall tales so hearing about the Prince is common. So exciting searching for him- highlight of life (want to know if he actually has 4 sts of wings). On a mission to help him find his soulmate (though mostly focused on helping Thumbelina) Going to make a good story. Starstruck when near him- very intrigued, a tad disappointed but warm up to him really fast (he’s got my girl Thumbelina and I like that)
Have you heard of the beetle? How do you feel about being near him? Yeah, we don’t run in the same circles but I’ve heard. I’m not mean to anyone but I don’t like him very much. May have had a run in (birds eat bugs) not big fan of.
Have you heard of the mole? How do you feel about being near him? Heard about but didn’t want to go visit. Not very interesting, just pretty different. Don’t spend time underground, hear about underground but it’s scary
How do you keep finding Thumbelina? On accident or looking for her? Trying to keep up with what she’s doing. Sometimes trying to tail her and get distracted. Sometimes know where she is, others know where she might be and try to find her.
Bit of a fight response, stick out chest, like to think I’m big man but when things get rough go to flight
Vibes of him sitting on a terrace drinking
Scene 1: stories could be anything, whether bedtime stories, pictures, books, film
Feelings toward word impossible- Deal a lot in infinites but I don’t think anything can really be impossible. Like high stakes and interesting but don’t like impossible.
Scene 2: bigger than Thumbelina, 2 ½ times her size.
Scene 9: Probably would’ve played the intimidation card without actually hurting. She’s really little but gets past that quickly b/c sees small things lots. Confused why she doesn’t have wings b/c she looks like a fairy. Hears “help” a lot but it’s kind of background noise but her voice doesn’t sound rough like others. Jitterbugs with me, I think everyone small is my entourage. He wants her to follow her heart back to the prince who can feel like home. He can take her back. He’s impulsive so he wants her to have the same energy.
Scene 13: softer vibe, nurturing side. Not a calculated thing, still myself/ encouraging but softer. Being ok= being happy. Animals are exposed to diversity, she’s beautiful b/c of how nice she is and nice to be around. Trying to encourage her. Promise is so much- goes by word/ promise is everything to him, he’s all about honor. Ties back to romanticism, not a lot of laws here.
Scene 14: Went to a busy area to ask if anyone knew, not much planning. Thorn in wing- I keep my promises and I can’t let her die, quick decision, impulsive. Really painful, trying to play it off but it’s serious. I lie to myself all the time about my current predicaments, things aren’t bad they’re fine- it’s in real Jacquimo too. He has a grasp about high stake parts of reality but its so interesting to him that he doesn’t like to think there are other types of problems. Doesn’t think about packing his clothes to go slay the dragon but slaying the dragon needs to be done now.
Scene 17: Fell out of sky and landed there. Wouldn’t seek cover in a hole. Probably has happened before. Why he bounced back really quick- at least that Jacquimo thinks story Jacquimo has done this.
Scene 19: 2 diff ways 1.) could’ve been awake and dramatic til she says that or 2.) waking up throughout, hear her lamenting and then snap awake. A little upset/ peeved that she’s changed plans after everything to marry a guy in a hole in the ground. Doesn’t think hard about it but thinks she’s got a little brain. Thinks she’s referring to earlier when she couldn’t find him. Think I’m ahead of the game and she’s playing catch up when it’s actually reversed. Negative relationship toward word realistic. Mom would tell me to be realistic and get upset when I’d tell tall tales cause I liked telling them. “Be realistic Jacquimo. You can’t always live in your head”
Scene 21: Friend group person said “I know a guy who might know but he asks a price” Something that’s hard to get a hold of (like a button) that he was able to get cause he knew so many people. He found it first but didn’t go in and then went back to get Thumbelina. Not listening to anything she says after you are wrong, focused on finding it. I heard that the prince was dead but was like I don’t have for this and brushed it off
Scene 22: Jacquimo’s happily ever after is a feather in his cap, it’s not a moral, he’s not the center. That’s the story and I’m the narrator. Au revoir is to the kids
(George as Jacquimo)
How old? late 30s, 38, 39
Female or male? Male
Who are they talking to? Telling this to the kids of the people in the story
Family life? Have had a family, the kids are there too.
Real or fake? Exaggerated story from their past (i.e. Might have been taking a nap rather than unconscious).
Differences between who you are and portraying yourself as? Older, still energetic, still cares about people, loyal, a little more self-centered.
