Group Work

Whether sharing the experience of reading a poem or researching to develop background knowledge for a literary work, group work provide learners with the opportunity to develop evidence of ongoing development as a communicator, collaborator, and problem solver who:

• • • agrees upon and works towards a shared goal

    •  delegates roles and contributes to the final product 

    • engages in self-regulation and works with the group to manage conflict 

    • adapts to the form of communication and audience

    • actively listens and responds

    • asks questions to identify a problem and determine an effective process that leads to a solution

    • researches to identify what is known about the question/problem

    • strategically employs conventional and/or innovative solution 

    • reflects on effectiveness of solution reached.
