Whether sharing the experience of reading a poem or researching to develop background knowledge for a literary work, group work provide learners with the opportunity to develop evidence of ongoing development as a communicator, collaborator, and problem solver who:
agrees upon and works towards a shared goal
delegates roles and contributes to the final product
engages in self-regulation and works with the group to manage conflict
adapts to the form of communication and audience
actively listens and responds
asks questions to identify a problem and determine an effective process that leads to a solution
researches to identify what is known about the question/problem
strategically employs conventional and/or innovative solution
reflects on effectiveness of solution reached.
