At a glance, it can be seen from this initial bar chart the number of accidents occurring on each day of the week. The chart indicates Sunday has the fewest accidents whilst the most number of accidents seen to be occurring on Friday. This could be due to most people commuting on a Friday to travel home and Sunday most people staying home as a majority of the population are not at work. The most popular vehicle type to be involved in accidents were cars followed by pedal bicycles.
A bar chart was used to ....
However to draw any conclusion from this chart, we would need to see how many cars were actually on the road driving to determine wherer the increase of accidents correlated with population of vehicles.
The longitude and latitude data was inserted to create a street map of the accidents that have occurred in 2018 in England, the dots on the map are representative of each road traffic accident that has been reported to the police via their accident recording software.
It can be seen that the dots on the map follow lines which are the roads that the accidents happen on. Occasionally there are off road accidents but a majority of these accidents are off road vehicles, most probably agricultural vehicles. It is unclear if road accidents are more frequent due to an increased populations of drivers on the road, reckless drivers on the road or perhaps areas with increased numbers of junctions.
