The effect of point mutations on DNA nucleosome wrapping energy
The free energy needed to wrap DNA into a nucleosome is highly dependent on its sequence. In this work we investigate the impact of point mutations on configuration and energy of nucleosomal DNA. Our findings suggest an energetic explanation to sequence preferences in different positions along the nucleosome.
