STEM + A holistic approach: art practices in STEAM education

The workshop, in the broadest terms, deals with the transition from the current STEM educational model to the increasingly necessary and challenging STEAM model. Art can be found side by side with STEM disciplines, shifting the focus from the finished product to the creative process. The lack of art results in a lack of preparation of young people for occupations that require innovative thinking and a flexible approach to problem solving.
The workshop consists of the following segments:
Interdisciplinarity and the communicative role of creativity,
The role of art subjects in the development of competences for the 21st century - teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking,
The role of artistic activities in experiential learning and establishment of conceptual organization.
Each segment implies active engagement of all participants through practical work, discussion and evaluation.
