There was a time in America where television was for the “elite." Television sets were expensive and uncommon, with the systems being complicated and slow. Now, thanks to streaming services, live broadcasting is a thing of the past and smart TV’s with every type of content imaginable at your fingertips, is the future.
Streaming services have become the "new" element to the media industry and they've allowed users to watch what they want, when they want, with just a button. Netflix is considered the fastest growing and most popular of the services. The company started the streaming boom. So, let's dive into how it got its start and why it's still at the top of the streaming game.
Carolyn Beato is a current junior at Bryant University studying communications on the public relations track. She has two minors in human resource management and media & cultural studies. Her all-time favorite TV show is "Friends" and her current favorite show is "Dynasty."
