International meeting on Insulin-Regulated Aminopeptidase
27 - 30 August 2019 | Nafplio, Greece
IRAP2019 is an international meeting, part of a biennial series covering all aspects of the biology of Insulin-Regulated AminoPeptidase (IRAP). IRAP (also known as leucyl-cystinyl aminopeptidase, placental leucine aminopeptidase, and oxytocinase, EC 3.4.11.3) is a transmembrane zinc aminopeptidase that performs a variety of important biological functions including the generation of antigenic peptides for cross-presentation, regulation of trafficking of glucose transporter type 4, control of oxytocin levels in pregnancy, as well as the regulation of brain oxytocin and vasopressin levels.IRAP is also a specific receptor for angiotensin IV. Due to its involvement in several human disease states, IRAP is also an emerging pharmaceutical target. IRAP2019 will cover the state-of-the-art in IRAP biology and pharmacology fostering collaboration and promoting research on this important enzyme.
