The first step in the application process for the Halls of Residence AND scholarships at most universities is to complete the the enrollment process for the university you want to attend.
NOTE:
Completing the application process costs you nothing.
It does not commit you to attending that university
It can take up to a week to process your application
Consider it more of an expression of interest than an enrolment.
Application at UoO is required for scholarship and halls applications to be made.

Applications at UC are made through their digital platform myUC.
You will need to create an account to apply for halls and scholarships.
The chance to choose exact courses does not usually come to about October 1.
You make your application by creating a myLinc account.
You will need to do this in order to apply for scholarships and halls.

There is a process to follow that can take some time. Don’t leave it too late.

Applications can be slightly more complicated due to rank scores and full courses. Apply early and check entrance requirements.

The application process requires quite a lot of documentation. Give yourself plenty of time.

It is up to you to apply and enrol on time. Check when your specific course application closes, this can vary widely.
You will need to provide certified evidence of your identity to the university. In many cases this means that you need to have your passport or driver's license photocopied, and get the photocopy signed by a Justice of the Peace. A Justice of the Peace will come in to verify the ID of those that are organised. You will be notified when this is to happen.
You will need to access your Record of Achievement (ROA) which you can get from NZQA as long as you know your login.
It makes sense to apply for scholarships and halls at every university you are considering.
At most universities you are required to choose your degree and major. Don’t worry too much YOU CAN CHANGE IT LATER

Applications for scholarships and halls open a lot earlier.
You have to do most of the leg work to apply for halls and scholarships. If they are late there is no sympathy from the universities.
A conditional offer means that you are offered a place on the condition that you meet teh specified requirements. These are usually rank score and University Entrance.
