University & Vocational Scholarships
These are scholarships that are offered by members of the community or businesses that are not university specific. You apply directly to the company/outfit that is granting the scholarship rather than applying through the university.
A lot of these actually struggle to get applicants so it is worth having a hunt.

FMG Agriculture Scholarship
Each year we help two promising agriculture students starting their first year at university. FMG's agriculture scholarship provides:
$5,000 towards your Halls of Residence or Living Costs in your first year of uni
$5,000 towards your course fees for the remaining years of your undergraduate degree (up to a maximum of three years).
If you're passionate about starting your career in the agriculture industry, can maintain a B- average, and are looking to study one of the following areas (or something similar) with an agriculture focus, apply now.
School Leaver Study Awards
For property related areas of study. Eg. Architecture, construction, engineering, planning, property management, real estate, quantity surveying or valuation.
Must demonstrate some financial or circumstantial hardship.
A Carded Athlete within a HPSNZ Targeted Sport or within a HPSNZ Campaign Investment Sport
An athlete within a Targeted Sport who is likely to become carded within the next 6 months or
At the discretion of HPSNZ, an athlete in a non-Carded Campaign Investment Sport.
The scholarship helps emerging athletes to pursue tertiary study and elite-level sport development at the same time.
Each scholarship offers a maximum of up to $10,000 per year towards fees and financial contribution towards other study costs (up to a maximum of $5,000 per year)

Our scholarships
We have two types of scholarships to offer talented, driven students in New Zealand.
The PwC Scholarship. We support New Zealand students who are experiencing financial and/or personal hardship, so they can achieve their future goals.
The Mā te huruhuru ka rere te manu Scholarship. For talented Māori rangatahi.

Scholarships for the Creative Arts
Jan Medlicott Creative Arts Scholarship: $5000 for creative arts of any type. BoP only.
Coker Classical Arts: $3000 for a student studying Fine Arts at Elam in Auckland
Christine Tustain Classical Music Scholarship: $2000 for a student studying Classical Music
Port of Tauranga is committed to improving the lives of young Maori through education and provides tertiary scholarships under two schemes. Both offer support of $1,500 per year with recipients eligible for up to three years of support (dependent on academic performance).
Applicants must have an affiliation to Tauranga Moana iwi (Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Pūkenga). Check the application forms for other criteria. You cannot receive both scholarships at once.
