Emily Magyar, District Principal of Indigenous Learning, Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District (SD68), collaborated with us to bring a cultural perspective to the use of materials to create understanding and connections during this year’s symposium.
Elders and Knowledge Keepers in SD68 shared the cultural importance and practice of Coast Salish weaving at SD68's District Day of Learning in December 2024. The result was a powerful experience of learning, connecting, and sharing across the whole district. The impact of that day continues to inform and inspire our work.
The Indigenous learning team at SD68 gathered and prepared everything we need to experience this practice of Coast Salish weaving. We invite you to use this as a way to make sense of inspiring ideas while we witness the presentations throughout the day.
