A letter to parents
A letter to parents
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We know that every child is a unique learner. They each have their own interests, strengths, challenges, and ways of making sense of the world. As parents and educators, we want children not only to succeed academically, but to feel confident in their abilities and genuinely excited about learning.
After decades of experience working with children in classrooms and early learning environments, I have seen firsthand that children learn best when they feel supported, understood, and actively involved in the process. While traditional tutoring often focuses on completing assignments or improving a particular skill, I believe learning can—and should—be much more personal than that.
This is why I created Mr. Kneebone’s Mind Masters.
Mind Masters is built around a simple idea: children are naturally curious, capable learners, and our job is to help them discover that for themselves. Rather than simply telling children what they need to know, we work alongside them to explore ideas, overcome challenges, solve problems, and discover how they learn best.
Through games, creative challenges, conversation, hands-on activities, and personalized support, our sessions are designed to make learning feel meaningful and rewarding. We meet children where they are, build upon their interests and strengths, and help them develop the confidence to tackle the things they find difficult. Most importantly, we celebrate the moments when something finally clicks—the "lightbulb moments" that transform frustration into understanding and uncertainty into confidence.
As an educator, my goal extends beyond helping children with today's homework or tomorrow's test. I want to help them develop the curiosity, resilience, independence, and confidence they need to become enthusiastic lifelong learners. When children begin to see themselves as capable learners, the possibilities are limitless.
I am honoured to have the opportunity to work alongside your child and your family. Together, we can create a learning experience that is encouraging, engaging, and uniquely their own—one that builds not only knowledge and skills, but a genuine love of learning.
With passion and dedication,
Gavin Kneebone
