2021 TEAM
The 2021 Rutter Middle School Story Map Team faced the challenge of 100% distance learning throughout the year. In the implementation of distance learning there was a major modification of the class schedule. The school went to a block schedule with alternating quarters. In general this schedlue resulted in a reduction of class hours. The second major barrier to overcome was the lack of access to the school site desktop computers, since the school district provided Google Chromebooks had a number of limitation.
The Story Map Team began with a total of eight students and five projects, but ended up with seven students and four projects. Two of the teams were from first and third quarter, and the other two were from second and fourth quarter. For the first time the Story Map Team included an English Language Learner with limited English skills creating much of their work using digital translation tools. Of the four entries, three placed.
