Updates

Here is an archive of every update we have done on this site.

Updates are listed from most recent to least recent.

We have found an artist! After this morning's video call, Emily Maiden has agreed to join the project as the Art Director and Lead Artist.

While we are still the pre-production stages, as she needs to get used to drawing the characters and getting a feel for this particular story, this means that we will soon be able to move into full production mode.

In the future we might still be looking for publishing specialists, linework artists, and other such team members, but for now I just wanted to celebrate such a wonderful addition to our team.

I look forward to adding her to the staff page, which should be happening over the next few days.

Thank you for your time,

This is the first update so it will be a bit long. In the future these will be short updates on staffing, the site, production milestones, and other general information.

In any case welcome! I have a few things to cover so let's get started.

The Website:

It is still very bare-bones as I'm still getting everything together, but I think it is a good start for what hopefully will become a long-lasting project.

As it stands you can find information in the following tabs:

  • About Us: This tab contains info about our Staff (currently only me), our Mission, and our History.
  • Projects: This tab contains info about the projects we have undertaken. At this point the only project on there will be Becoming Myself. However, should that manga prove successful and I am planning to expand into creating other manga works as well as expanding to create videos, games, and to explore other mediums of storytelling.
  • Contact Us: This tab will host a Google Form as well as the groups contact information. For the time being we will be focusing on using this tab to recruit artists and digital layout artists, but in the future it will also host surveys and other community lifelines (like info to a discord and the like).
  • Updates: This tab will serve as an archive of all the site updates in reverse chronological order, ending with this one.

Staffing:

Since I am the only person in this "group," I am currently looking for people to turn this dream of creating a manga production group into a reality. I am prioritizing the search for a digital artist (or artists) as just filling that position would allow me to begin this project in earnest. However, I will also be on the lookout for editors, pre-readers, writers, and other creators as I plan on this group to go beyond just making one manga. I believe I have a good idea here, something that will help tell many stories in many varied ways, and with your support and the support of interested parties, this could become something great. First things first though, we need to produce our first manga.

The Project:

This update will only touch on what progress has been made on our first manga. However, you can find more information on the project itself by visiting the Becoming Myself page.

This first manga is planned to be around six chapters, not counting a possible bonus chapter. Of those six chapters, I have written two and am about halfway through writing the third. More progress would have been made on that front but I decided to spend a not-insignificant amount of time laying out and sketching all of the first chapter of the manga to be able to explain the concept better to possible artists.

This means that as soon as an artist joins this group, they can begin work on that first chapter with no delay. This means that both the art and the writing can progress without one having to wait on the other. That said, as I still don't have a digital artist, the manga is still in the pre-production stage of the process.

To that end, I am also working on a short trailer for the project by using the introduction of the manga to introduce the project to the world. It is my hope that I can use a video to drum up interest and better reach potential artists and creators to join our group. So far I have recorded the music and the monologue (the first two pages of the manga). I will be sending the track to my brother for mixing and filming footage for the video next. Once I have that, it should only take me one more day to get everything cut together and rendered for online viewing.

In Closing:

I am very excited about all the progress that has been made but I realize we still have a long long long way to go. Hopefully, with your support, we can make this production company not just viable but successful. Please share this page and project with everyone you know and if you think of a way you could help that I have not thought of, do not hesitate to let me know.

Thank you for your time,
