A BROKEN HEART
I wrote letters to say goodbye,
I drew your face, then closed my eyes.
I rode on a bus with a broken heart,
Trying to fix it, but can't find a half.
I was on this ship, looking at sunrise,
To dry the tears behind my eyes.
As I looked down, I saw your smiles,
I let go of the tears, for I can't lie.
Now both of us are far apart,
How can I fix this broken heart?
TEARS BEHIND
Can't you hear
How my heart whispers?
How my lips shake
When I said goodbye?
Why didn't you hold me
When I turned my back?
Didn't you see the tears
When I wished you luck?
THE SIREN'S SONG
He was walking in the dark,
Beside the bay of the angry sea.
He was about to clear his mind,
So he cried where no one could see.
While walking on the rocky shore,
He fell down and lost control.
He cried for help, he bled to death,
No one could hear except the waves.
When he was about to close his eyes,
He heard that song from paradise.
He truly thought he'd lost his life,
So he gave in—he didn't fight.
He woke up the following day,
All his worries fled away.
He hid the scars, redeemed his life,
But there was one thing he couldn't deny.
He looked for it, he was obsessed,
Ready to die for what he needed.
He went to the bay, and there he lay,
He heard that song—it was all his lies.
He realized within his heart,
In the moment he was torn apart,
That siren's song which made him calm,
Was born from the darkness he'd become.
ESCAPE
Everything was perfect,
'Til it was too much.
I had said everything,
Still, I had much.
I gave up,
Then I realized... I did not.
I pretended to be the victim,
Then I proved... I was.
I tried to fix—
But it was too late.
I tried to pick—
But nothing was left.
I tried to escape,
It was just a mess.
I tried not to mind,
Yet I was haunted.
DEADENED
It's been a long time
Since both of us are faking smiles.
To our friendship we said goodbye,
'Cause of this crazy heart of mine.
It's been so long,
I even forgot about our song.
I don't even know now where you belong,
Coz it's been too long.
I never wish for a time to heal,
I just wish for something I could feel.
I never know when to believe,
Because of real illusions you have made.
But even time torn us apart,
I never felt a broken heart.
I never wonder why I couldn't love,
Coz you already took the only thing I have.
KITIL
Nagagawa pa namang tumawa,
Pero durog na durog na't nag-iisa.
Kilos na "Bahala Na"
Kaakibat ay "Walang Pag-Asa."
Sa mundong kay saya,
Tila tinakwil ang problema.
Ngunit isang libong patalim
Ang nakatusok sa dibdib niya.
Kung kakayanin, tatawa pa,
Tatawa pa nang tatawa.
Kung hindi na, may lubid
Na titigas sa leeg niya.
NO ONE LIKE YOU
She kissed me like you never do,
She hugged me like I can't let go.
She loves me, and she always do,
And she never told me to go.
But even though she's more than you,
And cares for me far more than you do,
It only makes my tears to flow,
'Cause I can't forget the one like you.
BROKEN MAN
Just pick up the pieces that touched the ground,
Don't try to put back what you had found.
Just let it fall gently into your hands,
There's nothing for you to worry about.
You can carve a curve on my sculpted soul,
Don't hesitate if ever you lose control.
Just let me tremble beneath your force,
Forge me a horn—and break me more.
TO ALL GOODBYES
So, I thank you for all goodbyes,
That kissed me smiles or made me cry.
Some I regret, but made things fine,
Though most of them I can't call mine.
To those goodbyes I didn't do right,
For reasons I can't quite define.
A few of them were just and nice,
But still bad times unbound the ties.
To all goodbyes where I said "I'm tired,"
I meant that word behind my lies.
I'm not so brave to start a fire,
Unless you take away my light.
But still—thank you to all goodbyes,
They made me strong, they made me wise.
Because of them I own my fight,
Controlled my demons and survived.
ART OF THE BROKEN HEART
Cut those unhealthy memories,
They will ruin the rest.
Prepare yourself,
And hold on to your brushes.
Draw first the borders,
And know your boundaries.
Clear every space,
And forget your mistakes.
Paint it all black,
With light colors on top,
To look bright in their eyes—
Your art of disguise.
Now collect the best,
And tear it to pieces.
Now you've made a great art,
You're a broken artist.
And... never forget the last part:
Sign it as your MASTERPIECE!
