Watch and share the video from Hometown Holler on the proposed subdivisions.
While Alamance County Commissioners do not review or vote on developers' subdivision applications, commissioners may amend development ordinances and adopt land use policies. It's critical for local and state elected officials to hear from concerned county residents.
We encourage everyone to reach out to each commissioner to voice their support for land use regulation that would protect rural areas from out-of-scale development.
Share with them your concern for what developments in rural areas could do to Alamance and Orange counties. They are your elected officials, and they need to know what matters to you. You do not need to be an expert on this issues to stand up for your community!
The plan of action changes very regularly, as we learn more about what avenues exist for us to advocate for our way of life. In the meantime, as we develop the call to action, the Commissioners need to hear that a broad swath of their constituents are demanding protections for the unincorporated parts of Alamance.
