Disability and Classical Education
Tuesday, August 19, 2025
7pm hors d'oeuvres, 7:30pm talk
in the Dining Hall
In this talk, Dr. Amy Richards, author of Disability and Classical Education, will discuss how a proper understanding of disability is central both to the human condition and to leading classical Christian education forward. Thus, an adequate anthropology is needed to support a vision of the indivisible relationship between disability and a classical education in which all students are seen as valuable contributors to the learning community.
Dr. Richards seeks to unfold the need to build new understandings of the nature of disability, the goal of education, and the ways in which classical educators can offer a genuine welcome to students with disabilities and learning differences.
To be presented to both faculty/staff during pre-service week and to parents in the evening.
SJA recognizes and celebrates St. Margaret by holding a $2 tag day (and sometimes a popsicle sale!) on or near her feast day. You can help by sending your children in non-uniform clothes. Proceeds to benefit St. Margaret of Castello/SJA's Resource Program.
