SLAP IS NOT AN EMERGENCY SERVICE OR LAW-ENFORCEMENT AGENCY. If a child is in immediate danger, call 911 immediately. Suspected online child exploitation should always be reported directly to NCMEC CyberTipline.
Use this option when a case involving child sexual abuse, exploitation, enticement, trafficking, or related conduct may have been improperly rejected, dropped, delayed, or handled inadequately by law enforcement or prosecutors.
We may ask for:
The agency or prosecutor's office involved
Relevant dates and jurisdiction
A brief summary of what occurred
Whether a formal report was made
Any explanation you received about the decision
Use this option when you believe a registered sex offender may be using prohibited accounts, failing to disclose online identifiers, violating supervision condition, or otherwise failing to comply with registration requirements.
We may ask for:
The person's name, when known
Their approximate location
The platform or account involved
What led you to believe a restriction may be violated
Whether the information has already been reported
Registration requirements vary by jurisdiction. SLAP cannot determine from a submission alone whether a violation has occurred.
Survivors of childhood sexual abuse or exploitation may contact SLAP to discuss sharing their experience through an interview, written story, awareness project, or other form of advocacy.
Survivor's may:
Remain anonymous
Choose what information is shared
Set limits before an interview
Review the proposed use of their story
Withdraw consent at any time
Request that social media comments be disabled
Use this option to report a social-media account or online profile belonging to an adult believed to be targeting, grooming, exploiting, or seeking sexual contact with minors.
Please provide:
The platform and username
A link to the profile, when available
The adult's name or location, when known
A brief description of the concerning conduct
Whether a child is currently involved
Whether law enforcement or NCMEC has been contacted
Do not contact the person, create a decoy account, continue a conversation on behalf of a minor, or attempt to arrange a meeting.
