Stitched by Cam started as an Instagram account acting as a “diary” to showcase my cross-stitch creations.
It became a “business” when I attended my first local craft market as a vendor in December 2021. At the time, I was entirely focused on fiber arts like cross-stitch and crochet (hence the name). Since then, I’ve expanded into stained glass and can’t wait to see what I learn next.
Still, I view Stitched by Cam as more of a “hobby” than a “business” and I hope it stays that way. Thanks for joining me on this adventure!
I’m a 20-something year old human living in Fergus, Ontario with my fiancé, a senior cat, a big dog, and a ton of craft supplies.
I started cross-stitching in December 2019 and promptly became obsessed with the craft, stitching daily. When I started to get tired of this form of creating, it was time to learn something new. Next up was crochet which I started in June 2021. When I discovered blanket yarn, I became obsessed with making cuddly plushies. The realization that I couldn’t keep hundreds of plushies in my house forever is what prompted the decision to start participating in local craft markets.
In December 2021, I participated in a one-day crash course on stained glass at Lucent Glass Art in Guelph. I loved the entire experience so much that I immediately purchased everything required to set up a home studio and dove into this new craft. Let’s just pretend this glass is “stitched” too, okay?
Now, I continue to enjoy learning new crafts and can’t wait to see what joins the collection next.
