Stained glass solder contains lead. You should always wash your hands after handling the piece.
Suncatchers are designed to be hung in front of light sources, such as a window. It is recommended that they are hung from a sturdy hook screwed into a secure location (such as a window frame). While they are not recommended, it is possible to use suction cups to attach items directly to the window. Please monitor suction cups closely to ensure that they do not come unattached. Glass is fragile and will likely break when falling from a distance.
My stained glass items are made for indoor display only. They are not designed to withstand outdoor weather conditions and temperatures.
All stained glass items are thoroughly cleaned and sealed with wax polish during production. If the piece becomes dirty, you can clean gently with a cloth. Do not use chemicals or abrasive materials as you risk scratching the glass or corroding the solder.
It is optional but resealing your stained glass piece can help to protect the solder from tarnishing over time. If you are going to reseal the piece, car wax that contains carnauba is recommended. This can be applied with a soft cloth and should be buffed off with a soft, dry cloth afterwards. This can be done 1 to 2 times each year.
Your plushie likely came with a product tag that identifies the materials used and provides care instructions based on those specific materials.
Most of my crocheted items are made using “blanket yarn” which is 100% polyester and is machine washable and dryer-safe. Some items are made with “velvet yarn” which is also polyester but not machine washable.
For items that are machine washable, it is recommended that you use a gentle cycle with cold water. It can also be beneficial to put the item in a pillowcase or laundry bag for washing to ensure that the yarn is not snagged by other items.
These items are dryer-safe but should be dried at a low-heat setting.
Items that are made with velvet yarn (such as hair scrunchies) should be hand-washed and air-dried. They should not go through a machine cycle as the yarn is fragile and likely to be damaged.
