Funding Opportunities
Overview
The STFC Cancer Diagnosis Network+ will fund the following:
Proof of Concept Projects: funded at 80% fEC, £10k to £40k per project.
ECR Scoping Studies: funded at 80% fEC, up to £10k per project
Travel & Training Awards: funded up to £2000, at 100% costs for PhD students and 50% costs for researchers who have completed their PhD within the past 5 years (Can be applied for at any time)
Personal Development Call - MSc Clinical Science modules at the University of Liverpool: free of charge to successful applicants (Can be applied for at any time)
PhD Studentships: funded at 50% (towards UK fees, stipend and research support fee), therefore matched funding sourced by the applicants is required. (No further calls)

Travel & Training Award Call Open
Applications to request funding for travel and subsistence costs when attending conferences, training, workshops and placements within the remit of the STFC Cancer Diagnosis Network+ are now invited. These awards can also be used for registration fees to attend virtual conferences. There is no deadline, applicants will be notified within 8 weeks of submitting their application. Personal Development Call -
MSc Clinical Science modules at the University of Liverpool
We welcome applications from Early Career Researchers who want to attend an MSc Clinical Science module at the University of Liverpool. Applications should be submitted at least one month before the chosen module takes place. Download the application form here.

ECR Scoping Studies - now closed
Applications are now invited for CDN+ 'Scoping Study' funding, up to £10k. This funding aims to support relatively new and innovative projects and is only open to Early Career Researchers. All projects must include a supporting named PI. New application form available here. Deadline 4pm 28th January 2022.
Proof of Concept Projects - now closed
Funding available for 'Proof of Concept' projects, between £10k - £40k. The aim of this funding is to de-risk applications for next stage funding. Previous STFC Networks have reported an increase in successful outputs from projects funded at this level. The lead applicant must meet UKRI standard eligibility criteria. New application form available here. Deadline 4pm 28th January 2022.
